Welcome

Lighting Lanterns at NightFor two decades I’ve been creating globe ice lanterns—magical, glacial candleholders—all year ‘round. Friends marvel at these spherical shells of ice, the center of which glows with radiant flame. The gleaming candlelight dancing through the glass of nature evokes pure wonderment. There’s something timeless about these glimmering lanterns that spurs thoughts of the world’s first lamplighters. Surely they, too, knew the secret of mixing fire and ice to cast light upon darkness. Now the secret can be yours as well.

The copy above is the opening for my ice lantern book that has been years in the making. Within this website, you will find the beginnings, some of the middle, but alas, the ending is still on the way. The creation of ice lanterns and the writing a book on their creation are my hobbies, so it may take another decade to actually produce. In the meantime, feel free to contact me about questions, discussion and supplies. I am happy to help.

I would love for everyone to be able to light an ice lantern in his or her own corner of the world.

Enjoy the glow!
